Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password.
• Receipt data: the receipt images you upload or forward, and the details we extract from them (merchant, date, amount, tax, and category).
• Payment information: if you subscribe, payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number.
• Connected accounts: if you connect Gmail to auto-import receipts, we access only the messages needed to find receipt attachments, and you can disconnect at any time.
• Usage and device data: basic technical information such as log data needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide the service: to scan and categorize receipts, to maintain your account, to process subscriptions, to provide support, and to keep the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your personal data.

How receipts are processed

To read your receipts, images are sent to a third-party AI provider used for optical character recognition. This processing is used to extract the details from your receipt and return them to your account. We do not use your receipts to train our own models.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run NeoReceipt, including cloud hosting and database providers, our payment processor, an email delivery provider, and the AI provider described above. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their part of the service.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active so your records stay available to you. You can export your data or delete receipts at any time. If you want your account and associated data deleted, email us and we will handle it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

Cookies

We use a secure session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use it to track you across other websites.

Your choices

You can access, export, and delete your data from within the app, and you can cancel your subscription at any time. To make a privacy request, contact us using the details below.
