Every way to find your eBay receipt
1. Buyers: Purchase History
- Sign in to eBay and open Purchase History under My eBay.
- Find the item and open View order details.
- View or print the receipt with item, price, shipping, tax, and seller.
2. In your email
- Search your inbox for the eBay order confirmation sent when you bought.
- Open it for the order summary; for the full receipt, open the order in Purchase History.
3. Sellers: sales and fee records
- Open Seller Hub and the Payments tab.
- Review orders, fees, and payouts, and download reports for your records.
Buyer receipt vs seller records
As a buyer, the order details page is your itemized receipt. As a seller, your income and fees are not in a single receipt, they are in Seller Hub and the Payments tab, where you can download transaction and fee reports.
eBay also issues sellers a 1099-K when thresholds are met, which reports gross sales for taxes.
Keeping records over time
Purchase and sales history stays in your account, but downloading reports and saving receipts is wise for anything you may need at tax time or beyond the display window.
Keeping eBay receipts for taxes
If you buy equipment or supplies for a business on eBay, the order receipt is your deduction record. If you sell on eBay as a business, your net profit (sales minus fees, shipping, and cost of goods) is what is taxed, so keep both the sales reports and the receipts for what you bought to resell.
Good to know
- Buyers: the order details page in Purchase History is your printable itemized receipt.
- Sellers: download sales and fee reports from Seller Hub and the Payments tab for your records.
- Selling as a business? Track fees and cost of goods, they reduce the profit you are taxed on.
Never hunt for a receipt again
Found it? Keep it, and every future receipt, in one place. NeoReceipt lets you snap a photo or forward a receipt email, then reads it and files it into the right tax category. If you are self-employed, that means every deduction is captured and nothing goes missing.
